A CORBA Environment Supporting Mobile Objects
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper is targeted for input to the new OMG Agent Special Interest Group and describes a way how to integrate object mobility into a CORBA environment. The studies on which this paper is based are currently performed in the context of Mobile Agent Technology (MAT). However, since just the mobility aspect is handled (and not autonomy which is the only commonly agreed characteristic of a software agent), the term 'agent' is avoided in this paper, and the term 'object' is used instead. The objective is to develop a flexible, unified, prototypical CORBA environment, supporting both remote interactions and object migration, only by considering already existing CORBA services as a basis, determining missing functionality, and specifying a minimal set of new functionality in order to fill the gap. This initial model shall be taken as the basis for discussions within the CORBA community with the purpose to start an initiative in the OMG.

A Corba Based Framework for Universal Personal Computing on the Internet
This paper presents a CORBA based framework for universal personal computing (UPC) where nomadic computing on the Internet is supported for both mobile users and mobile terminals. In the UPC environment, a mobile user, identified by a globally unique logical identifier, can access computing resources anywhere on the Internet, using any available mobile or stationary terminal attached to any net...

Universal Personal Computing (UPC) supports nomadic computing on the Internet by allowing mobile users to access their personalized computing resources anywhere on the Internet using any available terminal. Since UPC must deal with heterogeneous systems in a mobile environment, independence of computing platforms and support of portable objects are imperative, which leads to the choice of Java....

متن کاملCORBA Based Design and Implementation of Universal Personal Computing
Universal personal computing (UPC) supports nomadic computing at user mobility and at terminal mobility levels in a userfriendly way. That is, a user can access computing resources anywhere on the Internet, using any available mobile or stationary terminal attached to any subnet supporting UPC services. These services are provided via agents and enable a personalized computing environment that ...
متن کاملESOW: Parallel/Distributed Programming on the Web
This paper presents an environment for supporting parallel/distributed programming using Java with RMI and RMI-IIOP (CORBA). The environment implements the notion of Shared Objects (SO), Distributed Shared Objects (DSO) and introduces Active Shared Mobile Objects (ASMO). The Environment of Shared Objects for Web (ESOW) provides an environment to passive objects (lists, queues and stacks) and ac...
